2 more from the Rock

At this rate the whole album will leak in advance of the May 4th drop date for BSS‘s Forgiveness Rock Record.
Crooked Telephone

While I am appalled by the amount of product placement in the video, I can’t deny my love for this song. As of late, this is by far the Crookers best work.
Dear YouTube, Thank you for giving me a such a great method of procrastination. xo Sandy
I came by this simple alternate video of Lykke‘s Breaking It Up while procrastinating just now. Enjoy.
And who doesn’t love a modern (perhaps late night drunken hotel) take on this Louis Armstrong classic???
This too shall pass
Perhaps the most fun video I’ve come across in some time.
Here is the original, which is also a hoot. However, not nearly so much as the Rube Goldberg Machine version above.
What’s that? You want the download too!!??!?….oh alright.
I can’t possibly know every good band out there…

That’s why I have friends. Uh Huh Her was just introduced to me today. Pretty much love ‘em. And yes, that is the girl from The L Word

Another band I learned of today was MTL’s Land of Talk. They have a slightly Metric, almost BSS-like jam-band sound to them.
As a bonus because we all love something a little unexpected, and perhaps as a perfect segue because the lead singer of Land of Talk, Elizabeth Powell, recently became an official member of BSS, here is their newest track, which is pretty much amazing.
TGIF: March 5, 2010
Its been a long week. I kind of just want to bop around the kitchen in my underwear, cook up a storm, and share a good laugh with some friends. Miss Li, who is of no relation to Lykke, though the two do share being Swedish-born and utterly amazing, will certainly get me going with her happy-go-lucky pop sounds, while Owl Vision and Steed Lord will provide something a little heavier to burn off some of the week’s steam to.
Miss Li – I heard of a girl
Miss Li – Dancing the whole way home
Miss Li – Ba Ba Ba (Owlvision Rmx)
Steed Lord – You (Owl Vision dark rmx)
Streed Lord – You
If you haven’t already done so, you should check out Owlvison’s Leprozy mix, you can check it here.
Also, Steed Lord is featured in WeSC‘s spring 2010 campaign. The editing of the images is perfect. The old ’70′s photograph look pairs perfectly with WeSC’s signature plaids, denims and primary colors. You can see the spread here
Best in Class

Late of the Pier will release a double A side single of Best In Class March 1. Keep your ears open for it….and the multitude of remixes that are likely to follow.
Here’s something to hold onto until the track is released:
