Music and other modern musings

I don’t typically subscribe to the anti-commercialism counterculture revolution preached by yuppies like Adbusters’ Kalle Lasn or even Naomi Klien. Both raise well-versed poignant concerns but tend do so in a backwards language which ends up forming what I believe is a somewhat ineffective tactic of fighting fire with fire. However, street atrists’ like Banksy and this new artist I came by, Zevs, use subtlety to make similarly obnoxious statements but ones which resonate well with me in their ability to point out the obvious that is too often overlooked in the visual realm.

I think the Paris born Zevs does an exceptional job in illustrating the ubiquity of and needless value placed on commercial giants like Louis Vuitton, Chanel and even Google. Much like the famed masked street bandit, Banksy, very few know who Zevs actually is.
