Music and other modern musings

The other day I made reference to my dissatisfaction with Tittsworth‘s new mix. Don’t get me wrong, I still love the guy and was blown away by his performace here in Ottawa 2 years back. I just felt a little let down by the lack of playfullness and bmore sounds that I had become accustomed to. Anyhow, here’s a pretty great track off his mix, which I feel shows his older side, though a little mellow.

Tittsworth – Here he Comes (feat. Nina Sky & Pitbull)

And here’s a Dj Day remix of the tune which really amplifies the disco potential of the track with some really good shake, pop and clap.

Came by this tune over at one of my fave hot spots, Winnie Cooper, just in time for those hot summer nights of illegal but necessary fence hopping and pool popping.

REM – Nightswimming (Kissy Sell Out Bmore Re-edit)

You can check out the mildly entertaining and somewhat perplexing video that accompanies this tune by clicking here.

Perhaps I live under a rock, or simply frequent the same blogs too often, but I’ve not heard of this UK group, Metronomy, until today. I am very pleased from what I have heard thus far and have to admit that their vids are pretty novel as well.

Here’s a Mac 3000 Bmore mix which is undeniably worth a good shaking!

Aaron LeCrate is still Tear’n it up

Its been some time since I’ve come across Aaron LeCrate. The video is undeniably boring and been done before but its good to see he’s still up to the same Bmore tricks on this jam with Maryland’s Mz. Streamz.

Nearly 2 months to the day, Ottawa’s OC Transpo will be resuming its service today! Now that is something to celebrate! And so is Top Billin’s annual megamix!

Top Billin – Megamix Vol. 2 (Zshare)

Top Billin, along with Scottie B, whos tracks are featured in this mix, is considered to be one of the grandaddies of Bmore, also known as Baltimore Club. While some of his new jams are aligning with the new wave tidal wave of the last couple of years, he still manages to provide the perfect shake, pop and roll needed to get any ass shak’n.
